Interview: Donald Glover
It’s time for an another interview from the stars of CON AIR 2: THE EPILOGUE. Today we have Donald Glover. Welcome, Donald.
It’s great to be here, thanks. I always have time for Homestuck.
Speaking of time, how do you find your role as Dave Strider?
What you didn’t see there was that the reference to time was deliberate. I know these things. After all I have become the Holly-, I mean Ollywood’s leading expert on classpects. I have assigned them to countless stars. That’s me these days.
Most of the time I channel my inner Dave and give them ironically unexpected classpects. That’s me too. I have found my inner Dave and I’m in peace with him.
What does being peace with your inner Dave involve?
All kinds of delirious biznasty. It was a lot to take in. Rapping I had down, so I had a bit of a headstart. I trained swordfighting rigorously to the point I couldn’t do it. I lived among puppets for six months. I drew Sweet Bro and Hella Jeffs. I dived deep into Homestuck lore to find the true Dave contained within it.
As I did so, I found many hidden truths Hussie hid in there. I completely confirmed inversion theory. I discovered solid proof for parallel and mirror theories. I created extension and reversion theories. I have traced hints of possible layered self, double whammy and flame broiled whopper theories. I have become the greatest Homestuck scholar in the history.
How has this affected your performance?
I have become the truest form of Dave Strider possible in this limited world of ours. I unlocked my path to the World of Daves where the abstract concepts of Dave Strider reside. I meditated for hours before I managed to absorb even a part of the ultimate Daveness.
Ah, I see, a clever reference to Plato’s Theory of Forms.
What? No, the World of Daves is a real place. I have visited it.
Alright. Is there anything you want to add before we end the interview?
Come see the movie, I’m sure you’ll love it. Also, I have a book coming next month. It’s called Classpects: Guide to the Meta of Homestuck. I know some of you fans will love that.
Thanks to Donald Glover for the interview, and thank you for reading.
