Interview: Owen Wilson #5

Welcome back to the interviews, folks. The premiere of CON AIR 2: THE EPILOGUE is getting closer day by day. Owen Wilson is back with us, this time without Ben Stiller. Welcome back, Owen.

Thanks. I’m sorry, I didn’t actually come here for an interview. I just came to look for Ben. Have you seen him lately?

Last time I saw him was with you. What happened after that?

I don’t know. We were just hanging around, and suddenly, he does this weird thing he’s done a few times before. His head perks up like he’s dog that just caught a scent of the mailman, and dashes off to a random direction at full speed.

Usually I’ve been able to follow him, but he’s been getting faster. I couldn’t keep up. I lost him. It’s been 24 hours since that. Nobody has seen him. He’s not answering the phone. I’m starting to think something serious has happened.

Sounds alarming. I’ll call you if I see him around.

Thanks. Oh, and there’s this. A Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff. I found it when I went to search for him at his house. I think he hasn’t been there since he went missing, but I found something insane.

His house has been filled with sketches SBaHJs. Thousands of hand-drawn attempts. It’s scary how accurate they are. They looked like incomplete or failed versions of the ones we’ve been sending to you. I think we haven’t been getting them from the art team. It’s Ben who’s been making them. Artifacts and all. This one seemed new.

That’s unbelievable. Should we show this to the readers?

Yeah. That’s what Ben would want. I know he’s really weird and all, but there’s something behind all of this. And Ben knows it. I’ve been noticing cryptic hints hidden all around these comics, strewn around for those with keen eyes and sharp minds.

Why do you think he’s doing that?

I don’t know. Lead them toward some unknown secret. Perhaps even warn us of something. He knows more than us. He knows more than anyone.

I can’t imagine what’d necessitate so much secrecy.

Neither can I. But regardless, Ben needs help. I want to be there for my bro. I mean Jeff, I guess. See you around.

Alright. Thanks for Owen Wilson for the interview. Here’s the SBaHJ Owen gave us.

Thanks for reading. CON AIR 2: THE EPILOGUE in theaters 4th of April 2019, 24h streams on the 13th.

At this point I had the whole story in mind, as well as some ideas on how I’d continue it if I so desired. I knew Stiller would die in the end in an act of self-sacrifice, but I liked the character and I knew a lot of other people would and/or did, too. So to set up a certain kind of twist, I started building him up as a messianic archetype.

Owen, who used to treat Stiller as crazy, has “come to faith” in a way. He has seen his miracle of crafting SBaHJs by hand, and probably his supernatural speed. He no longer doubts the man. He knows that Stiller is aware of so much more than his behaviour may indicate. In The Other Side we see the result of this in the birth of Stillerianism, and Owen as the First of Faith. And a big spoiler for those who haven’t read The Other Side: Stiller comes back to life through convoluted shenanigans 3 days after his death, mirroring your favorite biblical figure, the Jeezy Boi. That day in-universe is 7th of April 2019, the day [S] Ollywood Showdown was released IRL. Does that mean the delay from 4/4 was actually planned…?

(No it doesn’t.)
